Green Sticks and Stuff was created in 2002 by Stephanie Lappen. Stephanie has a degree in elementary education from the University Of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. After years of volunteer work in the local school systems, and an empty nest, her children all grown up and married, (successful doctors), she needed to fulfill her dream of opening a retail business. In her small town of Greensburg, Pennsylvania there was not many specialty stores selling unique gifts. During a vacation to California she saw Lucky Bamboo, and came up with idea of putting this plant into elaborate containers of glass and ceramic with exotic marbles and stones. Stephanie met with growers of the plants, and also viewed beautiful twisted bamboo stalks made into trees and trellis plants. At that time the braided prosperity tree and trellis bamboo plants were created. Every year new ways of braiding these beautiful plants are designed by Green Sticks & Stuff growers. Stephanie creates and designs custom bamboo arrangements to look spectacular in any room of your office or home.
